Searching for Reform for the Female Form in American Classical Ballet, a stand-alone research paper and embodied presentation of original scholarly research, examined the intersection of the ultra-thin body type most commonly seen at the forefront of American classical ballet, the history behind its establishment and the structures in the dance field and American culture which collude to maintain its institutionalization. Research was met resounding response from attending peers in the field, and incited discussion lasting over an hour beyond the presentation on the final day of conference proceedings.
