Both novice and established film-makers are encouraged to submit narrative, abstract, animated, and/or short films that push boundaries and experiment with cutting edge media while expressing themselves in uniquely authentic ways.
“inHabit” will make its exciting launch in May 2018 and incorporate site-specific, live performance and stand-alone dance for camera works in one unique production.

"Boneless" - An M.F.A. dance concert produced by Rachel Dodson and Colt Irvin

A pair of unrelated dance works comprise a two-act production.  Dodson's piece twists and writhes in a sensorial journey accessing the unity of mind, body and spirit while turning the self inside out to explore one's inner landscape.  Interested in unearthing the creature within, Dodson seeks to peer under the surface of who we are in order to see what animal self lies in wait.

Dodson's original research and embodied methodology of presentation was selected for the Hawaii International Conference in Arts & Humanities 2016.  In "Searching for Reform for the Female Form in American Classical Ballet", she examined the ultra-thin body type commonly seen at the forefront of American classical ballet, uncovering historical roots and illuminating present structures of power in dance instruction, and society, which collude to maintain its institutionalization.

She was invited to independently present this research regarding female body image, fashion print media, and American classical ballet in a lecture/demonstration setting met with resounding success and lengthy discussion by attendees.
